Danger 5 and the Flooded Earth
« on: April 13, 2021, 11:11:01 PM »
Had a four way game set somewhere in the not too distant future.
Hitler has used time portals to escape the 40s. He discovers a time when the ice caps have melted and rising sea levels have flooded the Earth. Realising the planet and civilisation are now at his mercy, he sets about using his time technology to conquer the future.

Meanwhile, Danger 5 and a special task force have accessed one of the time portals and are on a mission to destroy the time machine, save the future... and of course... Kill Hitler!

Hitler and his Dino-hybrid soldiers hide at the top of a sky scraper

Looting gangs are another hazard of the time

As well as bands of nihilistic doomsday cultists

Some threats cancel each other out. The Doomsday cult spend more time attacking the looter gangs and anything else

Jackson makes an alliance with the gangs, but the truce falls apart when the looters hit the jackpot!

Tucker and Claire commandeer a boat to navigate the city, but come under fire from Hitler's goons

Ilsa and Pierre find Hitler's lair and destroy the time machine. Unfortunately Hitler was able to escape by leaping out of a window. Whether he survived the 4 storey fall into the flooded streets... only time will tell.

Great stuff! That time portal terrain piece is excellent.

The simplicity of how you are showing the flooding makes me cry - because I didn't think of it first.

Beautiful.

Inspiring!
I really like the converted playmobil ship. I converted one myself but this one looks much better and suited for multiple periods.

Things seem to have taken a decidedly J.G. Ballardian turn. But with time travel and Nazis! I approve.  :)

Indeed. The main inspiration for this game came from the one of the first Valerian books, City of Shifting Waters.

Right. Not familiar with those. Is that the French comic strip they made into a movie a couple of years ago?

Obviously,I was thinking of J.G. Ballard's post apocalyptic stuff, specifically "The Drowned World", which itself I think could be pretty gameable, with scientists and soldiers of the last vestiges of government battling scavengers and crocodiles in the ruins of flooded London. You don't get any time-travelling Nazis, but I guess not everyone's tastes lean towards a game quite as 'out there' as that.

Anyway, love the concept. Nice one.
