Outremer Faith & Blood; rules clarification
« on: April 15, 2021, 05:29:35 PM »
Hi All,
I came across a box in my cupboard  with  some painted  Crusaders and made up my mind to  play again some scenarios with these rules I like a lot.
I remember last time I played I couldn't find mounted lance features such as which dice to roll (D8-10 etc.) and how many damages it cause (1or 2).
Am I missing something in the rules? Is there somebody who has an idea how use lance? (I decided to assess D10 causing 1 damage) but I would like to hear your comments.
TIA
Marco

The rules for couched lances are on page 30 (and also page 37). On the first melee combat only. Roll dice as normal but the target does not count any toughness in defence.

Thank you Steve,
so if I got it right, I have just to use the dice for my main weapon and disregard enemy toughness in the first round.
Thanks again.

Another odd question: The challenge Faith Test is performed against "presence" value  of the opponent when in melee, but when you have to try the Test for rallying because you want to stop fleeing a warrior what is the value against which you have to test? I mean if you perform the test against you own "presence" you could meet the nonsense that the higher is  your presence the bigger is the odd you fail it.
How do you think?
TIA
Marco

A standard Faith test is to try and score 5+ with your Faith dice, as explained in the section on Faith early in the rules.
So an elite model with d10 Faith will rally 60% of the time, a d8 model only 50% and a d6 model only 33%

Steve thanks again.
As usual you cannot never find all what you are looking for even reading thoroughly the rules. :'(
Marco
P.S. BTW are you still playing Outremer? do you like it?
