Soviet Operations in Afghanistan
« on: April 19, 2021, 02:05:53 AM »
Hello All,

A few of my ex-army buddies have been getting together once a month over the past few years.

Lately we have been playing Soviets in Afghanistan. I thought I should share some of the photos of the games we have played in no particular order.

Please excuse the lack of weathering on the BTRs. The unpainted bases on the Russian heavy weapons and the use of white cotton smoke effects. Overall, the terrain still needs some work to finish it off. I really hate the road in its current state.

That is a great setup! Looks like a lot of fun to play on. I particularly like the river.

Awesome table. Me I get by with a simple drop cloth, 40 year old felt for roads and (occasionally) boxes for buildings. Curious what rules you are using and thoughts on them. Thank you.

Hello there madman. Currently we have been using a modified set of the Iron Kremlin rules referenced in alcal's post - Afghan Russian War Dated 13 Feb 21.

Great terrain. It really sets the, um, ambience for the period.  The minis look good, too.
