Just re-read the battle report - stunning looking game. Look forward to the continuing saga. Seems that the rain has not eased up! One of the footpaths near me has water running across it - normally seen in winter. Sounds like a penalty to shooting for wet strings / gun powder :-).

I’m not sure these will come to much, but whilst looking through my garage, I found a batch of minis I once planned for mythical Japanese gaming ( I got them after I stopped playing Bushido for which they were great!  :? )

They include oni, killer frogs, turtle dragon, naga, oriental dragon, female monk etc

looking forwad to see how those hobgoblins pain up - been thinking of getting some myself

Those Oni remind me of the old Nick Lund Black Orcs... I wonder how we will work those (and a giant turtle) into Pikeman's Lament?
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

2019 Painting Challenge :
figures bought: 500+
figures painted: 57
9 vehicles painted
4 terrain pieces scratchbuilt

They are old grenadier hobgoblins - Nick Lund sculpted them around the same time as the chronicle range

Reboot!

Ok….this died quickly so time to rethink.

Just back from holiday and I’ve been looking at “Test of Honor” from Grey for
Now games.

A game I can play on a three foot square that won’t need huge numbers if figures.

I have a few minis coming to get me started.   I think they are nearer 32mm than 28mm so the Perry Ashigaru probably won’t work.

As mentioned…I have “some” scenery already……a bamboo forest!

So I need to add a few buildings….probably Oshiro resin casts to get me started.

First minis hopefully arriving tomorrow so will aim to paint up the first shortly.

Thanks!  In itself will make a great setting for these games I think!

I have made enough now though…I doubt I will be trying to do many more bases! 🥴

Anyway, good news….my order from Grey for Now arrived.   The figures are 32mm but tbh, I have stood a few of my as yet unpainted Perry minis against them and I think a few certainly will mix in.

I have prepped and based a few samurai, the ones just arrived and a Perry, plus a Perry ninja.

I will paint up the first of these shortly.

I also received a set of Torii lanterns, pla prints, designed to take a bulb and battery.   I have butchered a couple of sets of cheap Poundland battery tea lights to fit them out with so I’m going to paint a couple of those up too….

Orders sent fella!

So I have eight of these lanterns and I’m just bulbing up the other four.  Should add an element of mood setting to the games…especially in the haunted bamboo forest!
