I see one or two sitting and kneeling figures in your latest photo. Do you happen to remember who makes them please? I'm thinking about coming up with a unit of men resting by the roadside and am on the lookout for sitting and kneeling figures.

Hi Paul, I’m pretty sure these are Warlord and Front Rank.  Warlord from their Pike & Shotte range (think there is a highlander version as well) and Front Rank from the Jacobite range.

Look forward to seeing your resting unit 👍

Many thanks. I wouldn't hold your breath for this resting unit. I've been collecting figures for it for years and I'm still nowhere near having enough.

There are some available as 3D print files for sitting and kneeling.

Poiter50: please could you explain how this would work. I don't have a 3-D printer, I'm afraid.

Thanks all for the comments, much appreciated  :D

If you have a lot of units then you do need a few of these marker dials.  The small stones idea is good, and I like the way that they would not look too out of place.  I have just gone for having lots of casualty markers though.  I try to add a few every so often as I paint new units.

That’s my approach, too, painting casualty markers as I paint units. Particularly useful with different coloured units like TYW, but I do the same for napoleonics. But they do mount up quickly.

Files are purchased from a free site such as Thingiverse or (in some cases) Wargamer3D or commercial sites such as Wargamer3D or Cults3D(?) and then printed either on your own (preferably resin) printer of via a commercial printer. Some of the sale sites have links to such commercial enterprises which allows you to obtain your pieces from them. Those sites may in fact already hace a licence to print saving you the expense of purchasing the file yourself but that cost is included in their pricing as they pay royalties to the original file producer). Here in Oz, I have used commercial printers as well as having a number of gaming friends who have their own printers (initially plastic and now resin) and are good enough to do some prints for me.
