Good day all!
My name is Jim Wonacott, and I live in Blissfield, Michigan in the states. I have been lurking for quite some time now, and finally decided to hop in!
I've been playing historical minis for over 25 years, historical gaming in general since I was a kid (and that doesn't even count playing toy soldiers with my younger brother), and various RPGs since college (40ish years ago...jeez...). For gaming street cred, here are a few highlights:
1. I'm on the Board for HMGS-Great Lakes. I'm the Treasurer, and Editor for our bi-monthly publication (The Herald).
2. I was a playtester for Gettysburg Soldiers, including their new AWI rules. I also was a playtester for Ambush Alley Games' Force on Force, and co-authored 3 of that game's supplements (Cold War Gone Hot, Road to Baghdad, and Bush Wars).
3. I run games at several area cons, particularly Drums at the Rapids, Advance the Colors, and Spartacon.
I was in the real army for 15 years (enlisted combat engineer, and armor/cavalry officer), and fake ones for 7 years (AWI and WW2 reenacting).
I play many periods, rules, and scales, but am currently focusing on 28mm War of 1812, 1920s/1930s gangsters, WW2, and neo-modern.
That's the gist. I like this forum over a couple others, and I'm glad to be aboard!
