Yep, just say that they were stuck doing civil defense work when the balloons went up. And they look great by the way.

A great set of helos

4 of them though is definitely a sign the project is spiralling - not that this is all bad, it means more great stuff for us to view!

Purists might object to the range of colour schemes....

A pox on them!  ;D

If they fit your narrative, then so be it... ;)

Like the flight stands, BTW...

:-* I think the whole thing looks bloody magnificent.

Obviously the Sovs didn’t think Yeovilton or Cudrose were worth a nuke. Can’t fault their logic.  :D

Oh and I don't remember the estate version.
The company my dad worked for had a Chevette Estate as a "company car" (for insurance purposes probably). Dad much preferred to use his own rather than the company rattletrap.

Nice flight of helicopters.

Are you sure you are not going to have an aircraft carrier?

Are these HO model railway cars?
Yup. Many many years ago my youngest brother used a lot
of his pocket money to buy me a birthday present.
He knew I liked model railways, so bought me a Tri-ang
car transporter wagon.
Probably OO Gauge (4mm rather than 3.5mm) then.
Great story, does he know they got drafted? ^__^

Well spotted, you are correct.
He has been told, but he isn't interested in Wargames any more.
He started to go off them when, having watched Battle of the River
Plate (Black & White movie) he insisted on refighting it. He would
do so much better than the actual German commander. A friend,
John (ex Royal Navy) & I played the 'totally outclassed' (my brother's
words) British.
He was giving us a damn good thrashing, the only fun we were
having was sending each other quotes from the film (via Aldiss
lamp signals) till John got a VERY lucky plunging shot onto the
Graf  Spee's thin deck armour. This was followed by throwing 100
on a pair of % dice = Magazine blows up!!!!  :D :D :D

Managed to build and paint the first of the Empress land rovers I ordered - a beautiful kit, went together very easily, and great fun to paint.

Trouble is, I like to mess about with kits...gave the guy at the back a Crooked Dice head swop, and then decided to add some camo netting.

My inspiration was the following photo
