We used to swop those gloves with drunken Yanks. We told them that the knuckle padding contained a map of Europe, a compass and a forty foot fishing line complete with hook...
very gullible them Yanks!

lol

We are not all that gullible.  I only traded for two pair myself.    ;)

Ok, so I didn’t “need” a honking great transport plane, but when the opportunity presented itself to acquire an Antonov AN-12 “Cub”, I definitely WANTED one  ;D

The following model isn’t commercially available - it was handmade about 25 years ago and made its way to the UK in circumstances I won’t go into, but are unlikely to be repeated.

It is closer to 1/43 than 1/48 but given the nearest commercially available model is 1/72 I can live with that  ;)

On the plus side it looks like a plane that could airlift a company of paratroopers, or a couple of BMDs/BTR-Ds

The flying stand still needs some work, but I thought I’d try and get an “inflight” shot...not easy given it’s size.

This is an interesting project.  Great work.  I watched Threads when it was shown on TV and haven't dared since.  A very scary vision.  I expect it's a bit dated now.

Wow, quality thread. i will have a good read of this over the weekend.

I have also been thinking about playing some AK47 Republic set in a post-bomb Europe a la Twilight 2000.

Cheers

Julian

Glad you liked the Antonov  :)

Had a hour or so spare today ...not enough time to make any real difference to my BSC entry, so instead I repainted/rebased some Corgi 1/50 Abrams...I’d previously used these in my zombie game, but I’m slowly adding a US force to my 1980s project...as it spirals into a wider TW2K game.
