First game of Stargrave

Last night had my first game of Stargrave with my youngest son.

Got thrashed

Two different crews
1)Mine: Capt-veteran, 1st Mate- Dekker, Gunner,Sniper, Codebreaker, Pathfinder, Chiseler  + 3x Runners

2) His: CAPT -veteran, 1st Mate- Biomorph, Gunner, Medic, Sentry,Sentry, Trooper,Hacker, Chiseler, "Guard dog".

Some very bad dice rolling from me + he had better tactical use of the captains powers ( note to community-  read those carefully before attributing them to your characters).
Also don't underestimate the guard dog - his "Compy" the reptile managed to hold the flank and managed to badly maul one of the Solo brothers Dan ,not Han before walking into my gunner's crosshairs sadly for my son compy didn't make it.
Fast and furious gunfire erupted from the very beginning and I managed to get to the first loot token only to be shot down by a sneeky Wookie. With my 1st mate caught in the open just as his gunner opened up things on my left flank deteriorated. My Captian managed to deal with his 1st  mate and the other Wookie only to be shot down by that wretched Rodian whose effectiveness had been boosted by one of his Captains powers. This lead to my crew being strung out , out side of Captain's activation.
The result he managed to get 4 loot tokens to my 0, apart from Compy everyone else recovered in his crew.
I ended up with a dead Captain and a seriously wounded 1st Mate whilst my soldiers recovered.

I'm over 60, my son is in his early 20's  we both had a blast.

Well, if you're going to get horribly trounced the best time to do it is your first game.  Makes it less painful to just retstart from scratch with a new captain and crew.

Nice work on the minis. I recognize the SW: Legion barriers. Are the rest 3D prints or resin casts from somewhere?

All old resincasts from GZG, Grendal, Old Crow, some have no clue as to who made them asI have had some of them for over 30 years. The grey unpainted are Mantic .Must spend some time getting this stuff painted.
I am working on some loot markers using GZG 15mm boxes/ containers etc.
Looking at some 3Dprinted stuff for SW Legion.

UVS had a great time , the board was recommended by an american blogger .UK product - www.lokebattlemats.com/sci-fi-giantbook.html

Rather than get the TSS base boards out or the big cloth I thought it would be ideal for small quick scenarios rather than my usual big dramas. loads of suitable boards. 2xA3 size.
