Ockius’s 90s Orcs and Goblins
« on: May 08, 2021, 05:16:03 PM »
Thought I’d post a few of these recent figures.
The first lot are Mountain Orcs sold by Alternative Armies and sculpted by Kev Adams. They stick out a bit among the AA stock as their other fantasy greenskins are in a very different style.

First orcs (in fact, fantasy full-stop) I have painted in about 16 years!
My armies:
- Henry VIII's army (WIP) 15mm
- Ancient Germans (28mm)
- Ancient Belgae (Gauls with German allies) (28mm)
- Massilian Greeks (Greeks and Gallic mercenaries/subjects) (28mm)
- A few EI Romans (28mm)
- Handful of WW2 British (15mm)
- A load of old 1993-1999ish Warhammer Orcs and Goblins

Well, such excellent figures to come back to fantasy painting. They do seem to be quite big dudes, ain't they?

Good to see some of the non-GW Greenskins for a change.
'Sir John ejaculated explosively, sitting up in his chair.' ... 'The Black Gang'.

A trio of Black Tree Design goblins.
Should really rename the thread ‘90s style’ as I think these are quite recent but fit well with the GW early 90s goblin range that I have lots of.

Savage orc boarboys. Some Citadel, some Black Tree Design/Harlequin.

The slowly growing unit of goblins, all Harlequin/BTD.

And two Orcs by the same make. Big fan of their orcs! Similar to the Citadel 90s ones but meaner-looking and a bit rangier and more sinewy.

Excellent looking greenskins!

A fellow I game with regularly has a number of the ex-Harlequin figures in his collection and from seeing those in-person, I have to agree that they’re gritty, vicious looking (yet oddly cheerful) 1990s orcs and goblins.

I’m looking forward to seeing your next additions to the horde!

90s O&G is the best kind! These are all lovely looking. Pattus Magnus put it really well there: "I have to agree that they’re gritty, vicious looking (yet oddly cheerful)...". Spot on!
