1960s RMP
« on: April 22, 2024, 11:46:38 AM »
My Google Fu is weak, so time to turn to the collective mind.

I am looking for figures to represent Royal Military Police in battledress and peaked caps circa 1960. Ideally I'd like figures with the post war battledress with lapels worn with collar and tie but I know that's far too niche.

I know that there was a Warlord Games WW2 RMP figure made possibly as a special or one off but it appears only on fleabay at silly prices. Quite happy to swap a peaked cap onto another figure but can anyone think of a donor body?

a) In Battledress with gaiters.

b) Minimum of equipment, ideally webbing free unless it's plastic and capable of being easily removed. (Probably an officer figure would suit best)

Any and all suggestions appreciated.

Col. Collins is my goto figure for conversions... no webbing, and he even has a waggily digit for telling off some poor squaddie

Not a digit.  That's his cigar....which he could still wag at a wayward troopie....

Cheers Ash! the first lot might work. Mostly a case of just adding some putty lapels and refashioning the existing collar as the shirt collar. Funnily enough I looked at the late war ones but somehow missed  the early war versions.

I have Col Collins already. With a new bonce he's serving with my 1980s Brits.

Any seated versions out there? I want to crew my shiny black RMP Munga.

Might either Black Tree's Mark Clark or their Patton be of any use? It's hard to tell from these photos, but they seem to be wearing Eisenhower jackets, which should pass as Battledress.
Back from the dead, almost.

Cheers Steve. Yeah, I looked at the BTD stuff and they do have the lapelled BD jackets. The need to work on their legs as well as the sheer lottery that is ordering from BTD puts me off them though. The similar 1/48 Tamiya Generals set was another idea and marginally easier to convert.

Cheers! Bloke on the right looks very Provost Corps suitable. Wish they would illustrate all the figures in the pack.
