Nice painting on the AWP figures.

If you want some more medical staff, the Crooked Dice Scientists are worth a look (though two will need hand modifications, but they all have separate heads).

Thanks, fellas!  And I have indeed seen the Crooked Dice figures (but thanks for the tip!).  I have several of their modern US police.  They have a bunch of figures that are on my "maybe someday" list... ;)

Well, I went to Menards (a big-box home improvement store here in the States) yesterday.  They had a couple aisle-bins chockfull of diecast cars and trucks.  I picked up 3 US WW2 deuce-and-a-halfs for $3 each (see my thread up in the WW2 Board).  Relevant to this board, I also pickup up a Ford Transit Van and a Dodge Power Wagon.  Both were $5 each, and were labelled as (and measured out to) 1/48 scale.

FYI, the van was show in someone else's thread on cheap diecast cars already.

Attached are pics of the trucks.  The 3rd pic has a few Spectre Miniatures civilians in it to show comparative scale.

The Power Wagon comes in several paint jobs - see the pic of the back of its box (the last one below...).  As you can see, I got the red one.  If they have them on a future Menards run, I may pick up the Army one and maybe the US Forest Service one...and I'll probably repaint the gas can on the one I got.

Damn, you keep reminding me to do the conversion on my Power Wagon. I plan to turn mine into a generic Soviet truck for the Ho Chi Minh trail.

Good finds.

Yeah - that power wagon can be pretty versatile....

Nice finds.   I got a couple of the Transits a while back.  If I can find a couple of the camo power wagons they'd be great for K47 but I've only seen a smattering of the other versions.

Yeah - same here.  But I'll likely check again not too far down the road...

This was an interesting find.  It's a John Deere 4020 tractor.  I found it at a garage sale my wife and her sister and niece had last summer.  It's actually from a string of John Deere tractor Christmas lights.  So, I asked if I could have one, and was granted permission.  It came in translucent green and yellow plastic (complete with fairly correct JD decals).

I finally got around to painting it up today.  Since these tractors were manufactured in the '60s and early '70s, I wanted it to look pretty well used.  And I decided to paint over the decals, as perhaps somewhere in the last 50 years, the farmer may have re-painted it...and it scales out to about 1/48!  I've included a few pics with some 28mm Empress modern civilians to show relative scale.  It works for me, particularly with what I paid for it... ;)
