Fabulous looking game!
Em dezembro de '81
Botou os ingleses na roda
3 a 0 no Liverpool
Ficou marcado na história
E no Rio não tem outro igual
Só o Flamengo é campeão mundial
E agora seu povo
Pede o mundo de novo

Thanks, fellas!   :D

I may talk to the fellas about doing 2nd Platoon's actions that day, at our 14 July outing.  Of course, if we do that, CPT Brittle will do his AAR as he mentioned under that separate cover....

Yikes! That's worse than a Black Hawk Down wounding for the rangers. Was Ted rolling for them or something? Haha... lol

Great AAR and love your tabletop, Jim!

Thanks! Appreciate that.

Thanks Mike.  We talked about that - this would have definitely made the news back home.  And remember, Ted played the Gambolan regulars and The Colonel...I played the Rangers.  My dice started out cold, but warmed up later (too late though...)

Ted and I will play out 2nd Platoon's action on 07 July.  I'll post scenario info here when I have it done up...of course, CPT Brittle will write up up his AAR afterwards...

By the way, I picked up some more diecast vehicles form Menards this weekend past.  A 1980s Chevy van, and 2 Dodge Power Wagons (US Army and US Forest Service), all measuring out to 1/48.  I plan to post pic this weekend.

1/48 Power wagons would be great! Hopefully match up the chassis and body work of the Power wagon with the cab and bonnet of the Solido Dodge and an almost ready made M37. Would save a lot of faffing around with plastic card and putty as well as cutting aluminium sheet for fenders. Could do with another M37 and I have donor cabs.

Let us know the name of the manufacturer please so I can see if I can track one down locally.

Great thread.  Love the town and battle.

Thanks!  I have the terrain set up for 2nd platoon's fight.  It's a bit more rural, but still at the River DoHali (where the National Road crosses it).  The Ranger Platoon will be the same (spiffed with positive traits), but the Gambolan force will be a bit different (with the regulars de-spiffed with negative traits).  I'll have the scenario info posted here one of these days...

Let us know the name of the manufacturer please so I can see if I can track one down locally.

They are by Denver Diecast (see the pic below of one in its box), and it appears they are manufactured for Menards (again, a big box home improvement store around these parts).  You can get them on eBay, but the shipping might put you off ($10-15 for the vehicle, and $20-25 for shipping... :o)...I paid $5 for each of these...

Anyway, below are some pics of these latest vehicles I found at the afore-mentioned Menards (Angola, Indiana).  The first four pics are of what appears to me to be a 1980s Chevy Van.  Based on the dimensions of a short-wheelbase version of said van, it scales out right at 1/48.  Both the front doors can open, as can the rear doors.  The sliding side door, however, can not open.

The last 4 pics are the Dodge Power Wagons (1947 models, according to the box).  One is in US Army markings, and the other in US Forest Service markings.  They measure out to (and are packaged as) 1/48 as well.  I know the Power Wagon wasn't used as a tactical vehicle by the US military, but the Army has a habit of pressing civilian vehicles into service, so it may appear in some Vietnam War games in the future.

The cab and bed do come off, with loosening 3 small Phillips-head screws from the bottom of the vehicle.  Either can be re-attached with 2 of the screws, separate from the other.  The spare tire is attached to the bed, while the fenders, running board, and gas can are molded to the frame.

I've included some civilians (both Spectre and Empress) in a couple shots to show scale compatibility...looks good to me ... 8)

Unfortunately, my Menards here as stopped carrying all those goodies. They have only a much smaller scale line, instead. Maybe I'll duck over to the other Menards in town.

Yep.  And I already have ideas on how to incorporate them into games...

As I have previously mentioned, this coming Friday will see my (nearly) weekly gaming group (well, Ted and me) play out the 2nd Ranger Platoon's actions during the broader PRoNG offensive in Northern Gambola near the capital, Bangerizi.  Below you will find the scenario and unit information.  1st Platoon's actions were recently covered by CPT Brittle's AAR a bit earlier in this thread...
