Gordon Institute Loch Ness Adventure... in 28mm
« on: May 26, 2021, 05:13:16 AM »
These pictures reflect my Gordon Institute Loch Ness collection which is the third installment of the adventures/research/exploration of the Gordon Institute for Archeology and Paranormal Study.  The Loch Ness project takes place in the mid-1930s when reports of “monster” sightings in and around Loch Ness began to attract the attention of the world and the researchers of the Gordon Institute.  Following an Institute review related to the events at Loch Ness and of documents associated with the mystery going back in history to the 6th Century (the Life of St. Columba by Adomnan), the Institute decided to establish two research stations on the banks of the loch… a headquarters station in a manor near the ruins of Urquhart Castle and a second station in an abandoned hunting lodge near Abriachan.  Both stations are situated near fishing lodges set along the loch.  You can see more of this collection in my Gordon Institute Loch Ness Gallery (113 pictures) on my vanity website at www.warin15mm.comIMG_102a by Richard Garretson, on FlickrIMG_106 by Richard Garretson, on FlickrIMG_110 by Richard Garretson, on FlickrIMG_124 by Richard Garretson, on FlickrIMG_128 by Richard Garretson, on FlickrIMG_201a by Richard Garretson, on FlickrIMG_207 by Richard Garretson, on FlickrIMG_214 by Richard Garretson, on FlickrIMG_218 by Richard Garretson, on FlickrIMG_225 by Richard Garretson, on FlickrIMG_311 by Richard Garretson, on FlickrIMG_314 by Richard Garretson, on FlickrIMG_315+bw by Richard Garretson, on Flickr

Wow!  Great figs, terrain, and vehicles.  Great idea/storyline, too.

I must say, that is a beautiful part of Scotland.  But Nessie doesn't look any too pleased... :)

Thank you for all the generous comments... much appreciated.  This was a fun project and I'm glad you enjoyed it.  I hope you can take the opportunity to see the complete gallery (113 photos) on my vanity website... link presented above.
Sgt_T, the sloop is a plastic pond sailboat I found at the swap meet.  It was broken... needed a new mast and other smaller repairs.  I cut it to waterline and set it in a base of Milliput and gave it a new paint job.  The seaplane is by Texaco.  It is die cast.  It is the Keystone-Leoning Commuter aka The Duck.

Thanks. Great job on the sloop.
I googled the seaplane but an affordable one on this side of the Atlantic would be difficult to find I guess.

Great stuff, as always! I have had a soft spot for Nessie since childhood. I made it a point to visit Loch Ness on my first trip to Scotland way back in 1986.
