Opinions on the skirmish cavalry please,
Should I do them just leather or wood effect as the skirmish infantry.
OR
Should I do them the same as the formed infantry above, white with black elephant.
OR
Should I attempt some primitive animal skin type effect, hand painted of course!

If you are doing 3 units then one of each is feasible!! I like the muted effect you achieved with the skirmishers.
Very nice project by the way. Do you have a set of rules in mind that you are aiming at?

Those Numidians get better and better.   :-* :-*

As for the cavalry, I'd go with the animal skin  or leather and wood but upgrade the shields if you are adding a Spanish bodyguard unit.

Would you believe it, I’m playing WAB!

Yeah, muted shields for skirmish cavalry and maybe a bit posh for Spanish bodyguard?

"Was Jubas bodyguard Spanish and Gallic mercenary types? Or just Spanish?"

That I cannot help you with, not in my wheel house. Sorry.

1st of 4 elephants finished.
Again keeping the simple muted colours.

Very petite!
Apparently they used a small breed?

Cute though.
Very impressed with the versatility of the kit.

Yes they used a breed called the African bush elephant which was much smaller than the African elephant we are familiar with today.

Ah I think the bush elephants are the big ones. It's a North African forest elephant (extinct subspecies), similar to the African forest elephant (L. cyclotis).

Started the cavalry, poor picture, I’ll post better when the rest of the unit is done.
