Tin Soldier UK - outstanding customer service
« on: June 25, 2021, 12:34:07 PM »
With all the problems that people have had with various miniatures companies, I thought it was worth giving a shout out to Tin Soldier UK for absolutely top-notch service.

I ordered a batch of miniatures on Saturday. Got notification that they were being sent first thing on Monday, and they arrived on Tuesday. Postage for 17 figures, including a hefty monster, was just three quid.

The batch included their Monster Manual-style hydra, which, at £4, is one of the best-value miniatures out there. It's a big beastie - perfectly suitable as a 28mm Hordes of the Thing behemoth. And it's a cracking figure.

I'll certainly be ordering from them again.

Is it nicer than the image looks? That's very tempting but the paint job on the site isn't excellent unfortunately! I'd often rather see the metals...

Your recommendation certainly tempts me to place an order :)

Yes - I'll try to get a photo up of it once I've assembled it. I like it more than the other hydras I have (Grenadier, old Citadel) - and I like those a lot. It's old school, but I'm really looking forward to painting it.

Ta for replying - good hydras are a little hard to come by so I think I'll take a punt!

I was trigger-happy and fancied a payday treat - they've got some nice 15mm things as well  lol
Will keep an eye out for the photo though!

Quite right! Yes, their 15mm stuff is great: stylised and old fashioned, but very nice. I am always keen on goblins mounted on dinosaurs! If I need to make any 15mm HotT armies any time soon, I'm going to get some more of it.

Here's the hydra. The dark elf and goblin are on 25mm bases (and the elf is quite tall).

Thanks and that does look good! And also like I'll have to get my pinning drill out...
