Khurasan not-from-Aliens APC

This weekend I built and painted the Khurasan APC. Given its stunning resemblance to the M577 APC from the 1986 movie Aliens I used the fanbase info for the painting. Figures in the picture below are from GaleForce9's 2020 board game Aliens.

I did order frequently from Jon (and am based in germany): from Jon‘s side it was always perfect. Very fast and reliable. Problem is that nowadays the American postage is quite pricey and customs can easily slap 19% VAT plus handling charge.plus customs (if the total value incl. postage is over a certain vaule — you‘d have to check that for Britain).

So it’s a little bit of a gamble. Often enough the parcels will arrive safely, sometimes you wait 1-2 months and have to visit your local customs office.

Looks very nice.
I resisted the urge to buy this one. Had my eye on the Prodos Games model for a while.
But in the end I went for a proxy and bought a Hunchback from Antenociti's.

Never had a problem, my last order from Khurasan to UK came a few weeks ago. Despatched the day after my order was made (although of course that depends on stock levels!), arrived with me 3 weeks later.

However, more than a week of that was it sitting in a depot over here whilst parcelforce sent an invoice 2nd class to me for customs charges. So no escaping those or speed of UK customs etc., but everything from Khurasan's side excellent.

That's one nice looking APC. I've been eyeing Khurasan figures several times over the years (they got the MST3k robots! and a billion other cool things). And of course their sci-fi vehicles look very, very nice.

Been looking at doing a bit of a sci fi side project with Tomorrows War and the Khurasan vehicles feature in the rule book, so nice to one in the flesh, so to speak, and it does look bloody good. However, having been seriously bitten by the extortion racket run by HMRC and Royal Mail previously I'll just have to look on enviously
