They are nice looking minis and I've a plan to use them to build some British Bronze Age warriors, but it is a bit odd that given a spearman is very prominent on the box art yet there are no spears in the box. Also, I've never seen a double handed axe from the Central European bronze age while spears would have been very common...there was a weapon from the early BA that archeologists called a halberd which was similar in some ways to an DH axe so its a shame that wasn't used instead. Still, they do look cool.

I really don’t understand your point - you seem to be saying that its odd that animated undead skeletons aren’t armed with historical Bronze Age weapons?

Nope.

My first point was that on the box there is a spearman but there are no spears in the box. This is odd as they would have been common in the Bronze Age not to mention that fact that they are right their on the box art.

My second point was that double handed axes weren't around in the Central European Bronze Age yet they are in the box.

My third point was that if they wanted to stick with the Central European Bronze Age theme then they could have done BA Halberds instead of the axes and while they did not function exactly like a double handed axe they'd have been similar.

I know these are fantasy minis but given they are clearly based on warriors of the Central European BA with great attention to detail for both this box set and the skellies, it's a shame the halberds were missed.

Lastly, I was saying that either way they are still great looking minis and I'll be picking some up.

Easy fix:

1) Canibalize spearheads from literally any other Oathmark box;

2) Glue them to axe heads.

Bronze age halberd.

You're really trying your best to misunderstand his very reasonable critique.

Thanks Macunaima, I was just going to carve the halberd heads from the axe heads and maybe add a dash of brown stuff if needed.

Thank you sir. (doffs cap)

After looking up “Bronze Age Halberds”, I think you could also cut off the axe blade, glue the spearhead in its place, and have a reasonably good fantasy facsimile.

I agree with you that it would have been cool if they did “real” bronze age halberds, but I’d guess people would not recognize them or would complain that they don’t look deadly enough.

But I think that with a little imagination, they could’ve made a cool scythe-looking bronze age halberd.

I’d only do it with modeling glue, in order to fuse the plastic together.
