High Elves similar to Oathmark
« on: June 14, 2021, 02:54:56 PM »
Greetings to the hive mind.

Looking for manufacturers (preferably UK) that make Elves that would match/fit alongside Oathmark plastics.

Thanks in advance.

That might be difficult.  Most other Elves wear plate.  Thunderbolt Mountain Elves have the right look but are much finer sculpts.  Tom Meier has some mail clad Elves through Dark Sword Miniatures but these are probably too tall.  Mirliton has nice high Elves but quite as different style.
If you go to the Wargaming in Middle Earth Facebook page you will see a lot of kitbashed elves: https://www.facebook.com/groups/151243738922969/

They're not a perfect match by any means, but the old Grenadier wood elves are probably OK scale-wise, and they do have a Dark Age vibe that should work OK in Oathmark. Wilder cousins to the Oathmark plastics, perhaps?

They are a great range of Elves.  I always thought they looked a bit like Sting in the Dune movie.

Just realised I spectacularly missed the "high" in the original post's title. But I reckon the high elves in the same range are a reasonable fit for Oathmark I think these are the same ones that Elthelred referred to, as Mirliton also produces ex-Grenadier stuff. They're much cheaper from Forlorn Hope, though, if you're in the UK!

To my eye, they're about as good a match as you could hope for (same sort of tall helms), and they cover (with the Wood Elves) the full range of Oathmark troop types. Also, five metal linebreakers for £9 is a bit of a bargain.

Gamezone maybe? I dont know how the scale fits, and they are more ornated, but may worth a look:

Those old Copplestone Grenadier Wood elves are my favourite elves! I also agree the High elves from Grenadier are a great match for the Oathmark plastics.

Didn’t Copplestone do the Oathmark Elves, too?

I have used Oathmarf Elf heads and arms on Fireforge Teutonic knights.  I think this works well.  I can post some pictures if you want, but I know others have done the same and with some Google-fu you should be able to find something.

Of interest, I happen to have come across these: https://www.warmill.co.uk/Crested_Elf_Heads/p814918_20658174.aspx

and these

Black Tree Design's elves are very similar in style and size. If you don't mind metal models you can easily blend them in from the difference ranges or use them as character models.

There are a pair of recent Tom Meier elf warlords in the Ral Partha range that match stylistically with the Oathmark elves. I’m not sure whether they are scaled to match the old true 25mm RP Meier elves, or the Thunderbolt Mountain ones, or something else.
