As promised, some pictures from the test match.
Please do not be disappointed if you were expecting a smooth picture report on a scenario.
We tested our cavalry orders and fog tokens here.
Our house rules have an additional order (cavalry action - mount / dismount and move cavalry) that we wanted to test.
Below are two dismounted cavalry

A Zulu unit approaches the dismounted carabineer force

You can get up just in time and cover a little distance.

The Zulu can still get to the riders.
I shouldn't have waited so long and saddled up earlier.
Before that you already have the mtd. Infantry overrun (unfortunately forgot to take pictures again)

We should try that again in a real scenario in which there are tasks to be solved.

The Zulu shooters impressed with their great luck with the dice

We played with fog markers that were either rivets or represented units.
It was a complete success and will definitely continue to do so.

All those who expected a correct match report have to be patient a little longer.
A real scenario is being planned and will follow

Allowing Cavalry to remount is something we have done in T&T also, but without special order. We just do not remove the mounts like the base rules require.
Riderless horse figures must be provided along with a horseholder and are subject to casualties. They cannot move, Dismounted figures must return to them to remount.

The "fog" markers are a form of hidden deployment yes?

Nice looking battalion. I might do the same with the extra Zouaves that I have no use for.

Today we played again according to the rules of Björn Reichel Triumph & Tragedy.
Again with fog markers and tasks.
We have set up a UK camp and station at the long ends of the table. The British had to either eliminate 30 Zulu, move ammunition from camp to station, or move supplies from station to camp.

The Zulus had to either destroy 30 Britons, the camp, or capture the station. The order was drawn secretly.
But now look at the pictures. Of course I forgot again to take more shots during the game

The station

The Camp

Wood and the Natal mounted troops occupy the hill

Zulus attack dismounted irregular troops

Two large Zulu units on their way to camp. The white stones on the movement tiles represent suppression markers

Another large Zulu force is threatening the station

We had homemade maps for all the troops. This made it easier to assemble our army.

Ultimately, we both had the task of destroying 30 enemies. However, during the game I was convinced that my opponent had to conquer the camp. He so massively steered his Zulu in that direction. The game ultimately went very narrowly in my favour.

I hope you liked the little report.
