Dismounted Philadelphia Light Horse
« on: June 23, 2021, 07:14:13 AM »
I finished basing my Philadelphia Light Horse Dragoons by Kings Mountain Miniatures

Since their only  participation in the  AWI was the Trenton Campaign, it was an easy choice to base these Troopers with a bit of mud, melting snow, ice and frost.

Here are the 9 stands of Dismounted PLH Troopers. They have dismounted to protect Rebel Artillery from British Dragoons.
The PLH were called upon to cover retreating artillery pieces twice during the Battle of Princeton .
The formed skirmish lines across the roads to prevent oncoming British Cavalry from hunting down artillery crews.
I believe (but, I may be mistaken) that Proctor's Guns were involved at least once.

I'm really stoked at the way the ground looks frosted and the way that the ice and snow are appearing to melt into the turf.
Anyway, I'm happy.
And I'm the only one that I have to please!

Outstanding job! It really does look like the snow and ice are melting into the turf.

A good point well made, one that's often forgotten in our little world. Your dismounted Troopers look great, so be happy!

I bothered to write up a tutorial for the Lone Star Historical Miniatures magazine on how to make these type of bases.

If there is enough interest, I can post it here.
