Atomic Cafe Painted SupaDupa Man & Friends!
« on: October 18, 2009, 05:38:50 AM »
Chris Smith is at it again, painting up some more of the newest figures. Here they are for all to see.

First we have SupaDupa Man

Followed by Marvin and his Mooseketeers

And ending with the Poughkeepsie Pink Pummelers (how do they skate on grass!)

I am not completely up-to-date with my American '50ies references here... The Moosketeers, are they a spoof of the Mickey Mouse Club? Super Duper Man looks great but I don't quite get the joke (...Don't answer: "If I have to explain it I guess the joke is not funny." It makes me feel horrible.)

*kicks audrey" Wake up! These will make you pick up the Hobby again!

Mooseketeers are a spoof of that club.

And in the 1950s, The Adventures of Superman was a top television show. However, when it went off the air, George Reeves could not find work except for doing promos as Superman. I just went a step further and turned our character SupaDupa Man into an overweight lush.

I just remembered Ben Afflek in Hollywoodland. Quite a sad story.

Yes it was. Apparently there was interest in reviving Superman just before he died.
