Some of you have already seen these pictures of my Bachmann 0n30 (1/48 - 3ft or 1m narrow gauge) passenger train.

I did a bit of weathering and painted the interiors, but the models are basically unconverted.
I was asked to show some more of these trains. There are very useful goods wagons as well. All doors and hatches can be opened and the roofs are removable to make the interiors accessible. That is perfect for wargaming. I tried to make the photos speak for themselves.

The tracks are Micro Engineering, tht is obtainable in Germany too:
http://www.ks-modelleisenbahnen.de/html/microengineering.htmlPeco does a similar track, but you can use any H0/00 tracks, because the gauge is the same (16,5mm).
The sleepers of the scale track are longer and their distance is wider, thus it looks a bit more to scale. The rails are fastened with old style nails instead of modern clamps or screws, what make it look perfect for pioneer railways, western or sugar plants, coal mines or whatever you can imagine.

Bachmann make a rather wide range of American models for wild west, pulp and colonial scenarios. They are very nicely detailed and easy to find in railway stores that sell US stuff or at ebay.
First I show a 1890-1950s streetcar (possibly for Chicago or New York, but as likely for any European city as well). I have included some size comparisons with prohibition era miniatures and a railway engine:

Next are the engines. There are other manufacturers beside Bachmann as well:

Bachmann 2-6-0 Mogul (they make 0-4-0, 4-4-0 and Shay locomotives too)

Broadway 2-8-0 Consolidated (I haven´t seen other models from them yet)

The following goods wagons are from Bachmann (though Accucraft does boxcars and there are resin kits too).
This is a ventilated boxcar with sliding doors at all sides and ends:

Stock car for cattle:

Low side gondola (I have high side gondolas too, but not painted yet. They come with an artificial coal load):

Flat car:

Tank car (all gondolas, stake cars and tank cars can be easily converted into flatcars by removing the bodies from the bases):

Box car:

opening hatches at the ends of the boxcars are very good for placing snipers...

Caboose (all passenger coaches and cabooses come with comlete interiors and are lighted):

Loading samples with vehicles of different scales, that are commonly used with 28mm figures:

1/48:

1/64:

1/55:

The vehicles for comparison:

These models are easy to fall in love with, but they are not cheap. Keep in mind that these are mainly highly detailed top quality model railway pieces. They are a very pleasant sight on the table, but they consume a lot of space. Railway structures consume even more...
