Cheap 28mm houses for ECW
« on: May 25, 2021, 05:37:44 PM »
All,
So I’ve completed painting some lovely Bloody and Bicorne minis for the ECW.  I’ve been searching for an inexpensive source of houses.  I found some very cheap housing for my ECW figures at a local Dollar Store.   A quick measure showed the doors and windows to be perfect for large 28mm.  No, they are certainly not perfectly correct, but I’m too cheap to spend $$$ on MDF or 3D prints, and the Peter Dennis paper models did not thrill me.  So here they are, Bloody and Bicorne minis for scale.  Oh, and there is a second floor wide enough for figures.

looks good to me, & I love the price range.
I did similar for my AWI with toys from Poundland.
Mine was just the front half, but I placed two back to back.
Horrendously expensive, £2 for a 28mm building. lol lol lol

I was thinking of putting two back to back, but what to do with the second door?

I added a shed to cover the one in mine.

I think they are ok, but i wood rework the roof with some smaller shingles. A second door is not really a problem, maybe some ivy on the walls. Only ideas from a fan, Nick. At the end it is your work.

Nurgle,
Thanks for the idea, but given that they are for my amusement alone, I’ll likely keep them as they are.  I’m currently trying to figure out how to turn one into a manor house.

Looking good. There's nothing wrong with finding a cheap alternative. They might not be perfect but if it works: it works.
Below is a link to my blog. It's the place where I write uninteresting things about little toy soldiers. I do this because I refuse to grow up and behave like an adult.
