Ney's Lament. As Marshal Ney leads a foraging party into a nearby town, he finds the Russian scorched earth policy has left nothing behind.

A small Polish line infantry detachment hastily forms line to fend off another Russian Cossack attack. Fortunately for the Poles, some Red Lancer Cavalry hear the musket fire whilst they were out foraging and come to the rescue.

Excellent figures.
Love them.
A period I have figures for, even some painted.
But sad to say, dropped to the wayside.
Maybe will start painting them this winter. ;)
So until then will enjoy seeing what you have painted up.
A big thank you for sharing the photos.

Now, those are some great looking figures.  They fit your "winter retreat" theme quite nicely!

Cheers boys 👍

I appreciate the Retreat is a bit niche from a Nap perspective, but that's what I like about it, plus I have done really big Nap collections for Spain and 1815, as a result, its been nice to just put together 400 figs in total and do the Retreat as a large skirmish.

Ney's Bridge Too Far. Marshall Ney has taken forward a combined arms detachment of French and Poles to secure a bridge. As Ney approaches the frozen river, the column is attacked by Russian Cossacks.

French light cavalry sally out of the column to delay the Russian attacks on the hard pressed infantry. Whilst at the rear, Lt Henri Macron leads a brave charge into the rapidly approaching Cossacks.
