If you haven't tried the series, I can recommend the Galaxy's Edge series by Nick Cole and Jason Anspach. It is a fun mashup/tribute to Star Wars, which if you aren't aware you will start to realize about 1/3rd of the way into the 1st book, Legionnaire. Suddenly the 'storm troopers' are an elite military unit who are serious contenders. The Republic is corrupt and failing, and a sinister dark lord arrives to form the first galactic empire. There is a little something for everyone here: Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica (with the Cylon replicant ship showing up later in the series), 40k (the Zhee, the Savages filling in for Chaos, and the way they describe the Dark Wanderer), Lord of the Rings and a poke in the eye at Elmo.
You can find the series here:
https://galaxysedge.us/The team over at Enemy Spotted miniatures recently released the first officially licensed minis for the series, comprising a single kill team of legionnaires.
https://www.enemyspottedstudios.com/galaxysedgeI picked up a squad and painted them up for use in Galactic Heroes (now to convert some Zhee for them to go legion on).
Overall the minis are nice (they are resin 3d printed) and have decent detail. They are roughly Star Wars Legion scale, and will be taller than most 28mm figs, but are not as beefy as GW stuff. I'll be looking to see if they expand the range at all, as I wouldn't mind snagging a few more riflemen or a rocket launcher legionnaire.
