I really like those wolves and you've done a fantastic job getting them painted up! I really like how they are reminiscent of the old Battle Masters wolves... like they took the best of the battlemasters wolves and made them better.

Excellent paint work, inspiring stuff.

Bloomin' eck they're gorgeous. I might now have to hide every figure I've painted, for I am suddenly ashamed of them!!

Thanks Neldoreth, really pleased you like them.  They were fun to do, even if a bit long winded.

They look great. I especially like your basing materials.
Can't wait to see the riders.

Hi Thingol
Thanks so much for the kind comments.  The basing materials are actually pretty simple.  The ground cover is papier mache powder made up with white glue (so it sticks) and tinted with powder paint.  The flock is three colours from Javis, meadow green, dark green, and spring green.  The rocks are sold in gardening shops for basing pond plants, and the tufts are varied from warpainter.

Oh, and the riders will be along in a week or two.  It’s just too hot to make progress at the moment.  :'(

Brilliant stuff. I like the colour choices they really add some uniformity to a none uniform force (I think that makes sense).

Many thanks BALM.  Glad you like ‘em.  I reasoned that they were an elite unit so would put some effort into uniformity…..

That was longer than expected? You're not even near my painting slowness... 😀
Great colors on the riders, they look really intimidating!

I am really impressed by the way you have used a restricted palette and superb painting.

Thanks for sharing.

Hi BZ.  Thanks mate, appreciate the support.  I am retired, and paint virtually every day, so I thought they would take about two weeks, not four….it felt like I was doing three units at times…
