Beastman warband
« on: July 21, 2021, 09:25:45 PM »
This is a commission I finished recently and I believe it's intended for Mordheim. Citadel and Marauder miniatures. Always fun painting up old Citadel stuff.

The sheep is the warband mascot or something.

Objective markers and I'm not sure whether the dog was intended for this warband or not but it got painted anyway.

That old Trish Carden sabretooth-man looks particularly amazing!

Cool. Love the old ones that aren't all just goats. Although I do like how you've painted the goatmen ones too.

Great stuff, does those old miniatures justice. The sheep is the leader of the warband, obviously.
And the black patch around the dog's eye is perfect!

Lovely work, as usual.
Gotta love those old Citadel beasties, especially those early minotaurs.

Agreed on all counts.  Really does justice to some lovely old sculpts.  The minotaurs in particular make GW's current offerings just embarrassing to look at.

Never trust a sheep, as anyone who's played FMA scenarios at the Ground Zero Games con will surely agree.

Those are fantastic.

There is a Mervyn Peake novella called 'Boy in Darkness' which has a Lamb as its antagonist. One of the creepiest things I've ever read, never looked at a sheep in the same way! in particular the mental image of the "yielding, horrible mollience of endless wool”.

Even worse when they're the flying variety.  Monty Python knew what they were on about.  :)
