Space 1889 Lizardmen of Venus Update 31/03 Army Update!

Not much progress as Iīm currently organising the army and printing a bunch of movement trays. While playing around with some spare models, I had the idea to put the lizardmen heads on some Napoleonic infantry, creating some kind of sepoy infantry. As you can see these are without tails but sure some background idea can be invented for that. Not sure if I will create full units but interesting idea.

Maybe cutting off their tails acts like a sort of gelding and makes them more amenable?

I would think it wouldn't be hard to add stretched sprue to the buttocks to form a tail ?

Instead of sculpting a tail, maybe find something cushion-like?

Thatīs quite a bunch of reasons so quite feasible without tails. I was going by the background that these professional soldiers are recruited among outcasts, conquered enemies, convicts that were punished and marked by the removal of their tails.

Their only options, survive in the deadly jungles as renegades or outcasts, long life service in penal camps or sign up in highly sought after mercenary bands for hire by captain or princes with the possibility of higher social status and riches upon completion of full service. Although maybe not desired by their respective nations, european powers might be very interested to bolster their own small armies.

So have been printing movement trays and organising the units. Now just to finish up some artillery pieces and the trays.

I also thought of this when lack of tails was mentioned. They could have voluntarily removed their own tails to avoid being hampered in the fight (in human-style uniforms the tails would not help their movement) and/or to show that they are seasoned warriors.

Couldnīt resist and assembled eight of these new native soldiers. Some minor conversion work to fit the heads and changing the arm and hand with a native sword. Looking pretty good so might assembled some more.
