WOTR Skirmish rules
« on: August 02, 2021, 08:15:30 PM »
I am wanting to do a War of the Roses skirmish game where it is individual figures representing one man.
What rules would you recommend for this? Planning to do it in 28mm. Thanks.

Thanks for the suggestion. But they look more unit based. I am looking for a man-to-man rule set.

After seeing the various recommendations on here I used Fistful of Lead for WotR 1on1 at our club (pre-pandemic). Despite it being my first game with the rules it worked well and easily and I’m planning on using it again.

No problem!

For any man-to-man skirmish game I usually use the Middle Earth Strategy Battle Game rules by GW, either with some edits to the profiles or just finding the nearest thing :)

Cool rules and thanks for the idea of using Middle earth Strategy battle game for skirmishing.

The Osprey rules ‘Outremer Faith and Blood’ would probably work pretty well.

Fallowing on from the middle earth strategy game suggestion. I tracked down another fellows work on making some fast and ready States for generic medieval mod of LOTR's.

Argad – if the gaming table is covered with many terrain obstacles, and with a RPG-ish mind, not for tactical competition.
There is no specific WOTR extension but the 14th C. charts work as well.

What about Never Mind the Billhooks?

It is still available from Wargames Illustrated:
