I wanted some rubble and I had some cork floor tiles. I also had access to our coffee grinder.

I got my cork rubble and my wife got a new coffee grinder. And the bin got a smoke blackened appliance that smelt very strange.

lol lol It's so easily done... And they never understand...

Oh, yum. That stuff smells strange when it's normal, so I can only imagine how it smells after...

Apologies for resurrecting a rather old thread but I had a bit of spare time and the house to myself today and got the hill out of the attic and covered it in sand  :D

I've also put styrene tube all over for the placement of trees (hence the bamboo rods to stop glue going down the holes)

I added a bit more on the overall footprint as it was decending a bit harsh in places, this should also allow for the placement of normal trees on bases.

I'll be colouring the ground this week hopefully and then putting on lots of different types of growies. For the cliff face, I might try and keep it a similar colour to what is there already as it looks quite nice and matches some cliffs that I've seen in Japan (better than the usual grey anyway  :) )

cheers

That's a very hansome corner piece. I've had something like that in mind myself.

Nice one JB. Is that mounted samurai from the "Window Cleaner" clan?

Right then chaps, it's not even the New Year yet and it's done  ;D  ;D

I'm really pleased with the way it's turned out and I might just do another one for the other corner  ;)

A simple rough coat of tan/grey/brown and then highlighted up to a pale grey/cream.

Then I added some green and brown washes to break up the surface colour.

Some tea leaves and a mix of greenery flocking later I was ready for the bushes/trees.

Small bushes to start and then larger trees and then to finish, proper sized trees  :D

I am working on a little shrine to go on the top, but I'm going to cast it and add it to the catalogue so it'll be a while before it's ready (before April  ;D  ;) )

cheers

James
