[Stargrave] Some Ruffians and More Creatures
« on: August 16, 2021, 05:35:15 AM »
I painted up some more 3D printed creatures for Stargrave. These are gobbos acting as low level pirates, and some grells as tanglers.

I love the idea of blue goblins. Why didn't I come up with it?

Thanks guys.
I found the blue goblin idea online. There are examples of both fantasy and sci-fi versions.

Because Cricky Hitchcock invented them first, way back in White Dwarf #12 and then later republished in 1981's Fiend Folio.  Mind you, he called them Xvarts for some reason, but they were just blue goblins and we all knew it.  :)

And I truly thank you for it, as I had absolutely no idea ...  :)

Yes, thanks for that bit of history Chief Lackey Rich. I see pieces of art online but didn't know the origin.

Yes, thanks for that bit of history Chief Lackey Rich. I see pieces of art online but didn't know the origin.

I suspect the origins for a lot of the Fiend Folio monsters involved early White Dwarf writers and rather a lot of hallucinogenic drugs.  It would explain things like the flumph and the flail snail if nothing else.  :)

Mind you, it wasn't just the Brits who were tripping when they came up with stuff for D&D.  As far as I'm concerned this video is canon:
