That looks smashing, the mat really works and those planes are gorgeous.

Thanks Levied. Much brighter than the PBI
(Poor Bleeding Infantry) in the trenches.
Planes also have the advantage of
one player = one plane, not hundreds of PBI. :D
I might, sometime, add more early war kites.
What stops me is all of that rigging. Maybe
someone will 3D print them. That would be helpful.

While they were out I took some pictures of some
of the other planes, the ones that didn't make it
onto the table for our game.
3 x SE5a
2 x Ein decker
2 x Fokker D7 (my favourite WW1 plane)
1 x Hannover
and an artillery observation balloon.
'Balloon Busting' was a VERY dangerous 'sport'.

Thought I'd include some of the Flying Circus
Fokker DR1 Triplanes, oh & of course the
Red Baron himself.

That all looks rather spiffy - terrific paint jobs and a wonderful mat.

I do love a little bit of aerial acrobatics and WW1 kites can be marvellously colourful.

Although the 1/144 Wings of War/Glory/Whatever are good it's a real treat to see some good honest metal, paint and skill on show - and what a show it is!

Thanks Pauld. I did have fun painting them,
which was much easier than assembling them. :D

I know what you mean - I have an airforce of 1/600 Tumbling Dice which are nice - but ye gods the under carriage and wings!

My personal hell is dropping a small bit onto the carpet.
If I go down on all fours, to feel for it, the dogs think
I have come down to play. 'Move you son of a bitch!'. :D

Deepcut.  They did a deal several Christmases ago, get
three for the price of two. My lovely wife paid for them for
me. :-* :-* :-*
The clouds one is the last to actually see 'action'.
They are all very nice & are of the Mouse-mat material.
Storage was the problem, but I visited a local Carpet
store & they let me have several inner rolls. They even
sawed them in half for me, so they would fit in my car.
Now I roll the matts up & store them inside the cardboard
tubes. It helps to fix a label to each tube saying which
matt is inside (stops me having to empty & unroll all of
them  lol lol lol)
