The Great space dwarf roundup
« on: August 18, 2021, 09:59:48 PM »
Ok so, when I posted my squats I asked you guys and a few of my friends to help me find so great "not Squats". Most of you guys may already know about all these, but I figure that if I can direct even 1 person to these great models then it will be a win.

Ok so to start I'm going to do the sellers that can be found on ebay.

First on the list is Feargal "The Ripsaw" Maelstrom, who is being sold by Geeksalad on ebay. Feargal is sculpted by bob olley and there are only 350 copies of him for sale, they recently relisted him with some name changes so the sold count has reset. But I estimate that they have sold close to 70 of the models.

The Next ebay scpae dwarf is Eric the Space Dwarf, sold by the old school miniatures company. To be blunt Eric is the weakest model on the list, my copy had air bubbles along the fin of his helmet and the cuffs of his shirt, he also had a lot of flash I had to clean. But Eric is also one of the cheapest models on here, and quality follows price so to say. I think Eric is fine for his price, and he does fit in well with the old squats.

Were weevil is a great model company, which sells tone of both loyal and chaos "Swarfs", only problem is that shipping from australia coasts an arm and a leg. https://www.wereweevilminiatures.com/shop

Uscarl miniatures has some great sculpts by Kevin adams and Bob olley. Shipping is also high with these guys as well.

Grimforge miniatures offers a single space dwarf character armed with a plasma pistol and power fist,

Technically not an Ebay seller is there a guy on ebay who sells bad squiddo games' one and only space dwarf model.

Ramshackle games offer a ton of space dwarf bikers, and even a few tanks.

Sorry about the images not embedding properly, Feargal is the top and Eric is the bottom.

Don't forget the Skull and Crown ones - LAF thread

Mantic does a bunch in its deadzone Forge Fathers range. They do civilians ones, as well as the infantry - link

There's all Inso's stuff, not sure where they're sold, it may mention it in the thread - LAF thread

Wargames Atlantic, although they're all military - Einherjar

FWIW, Mantic also has at least two Dreadball teams composed of Forgefathers, plus a star player fig or two.  Not sure what you'd do with a sports team in most games, but they're wearing enough padding to look armored and could probably be converted into troops or factory workers or something with a bit of work.  Worth a look if you're over there poking around the Deadzone section.

I'm pretty sure that most of Inso's stuff is on macrocosm. I left wargames Atlantic off because they are more original takes on space dwarves, whereas I was looking for models that would fit in right alongside the old rogue trader squats, or models that were sculpted by Bob Olley.

My stuff is mostly on Macrocosm: https://www.macrocosm.co.uk/product-category/macrocosm/space-dwarves-macrocosm/   (or will be at some point... Kickstarters permitting)... but many of the Wereweevil Swarfs are based on bodies that I sculpted.

I have another Dwarf, here (Hannibal): http://www.grekwoodminiatures.co.uk/IndividualCharacters.php

I'd recommend the Hasslefree Grymn but as awesome as they are, they are NOT "Squat" type Space Dwarfs... more like well built and equipped Space Halflings (I dearly love them... I really do :) ... I have hundreds of them :) ).

You may find some CP miniatures "Runts" may fit in... and if you need some snipers, I sculpted them as well :) : https://cpmodels.co.uk/product-category/28mm-ranges/28mm-sci-fi/runts-space-dwarfs/

@inso, sizewise does Hannibal fit in with rogue trader squats?

There’s also the Dvarg from Bridge Miniatures (previously at Black Hat)

https://bridgeminiatures.com/?_wpnonce=e764766063&_wp_http_referer=%2F&post_type=product&s=Dvarg

They are great  non-uniform ‘slayer’ style Squats - much better than the photos in the site suggest.
