Weird WW2 with Chain of Command
« on: August 21, 2021, 09:06:27 PM »
Some extra Chain of Command rules for weird wars were published in the Lard specials. Based on these I created a scenario where US paratroopers are sent on a mission to capture German officers but find themselves fighting weird Vergeltungswaffen. I didn't tell my friend who played the Americans that last bit, but he enjoyed the surprise and we had a fun game.

First it's US airborne fighting Fallschirmjäger.

But then doctor Spitzenfinger releases his enhanced super-soldiers.

Sgt_T that is a great idea and exactly what I’d love in a game, almost GM generated ‘fog of war’. I’m quite the fan of lack of information in gaming, I’m now going to go and read your blog post and I’ll be back!

Thanks guys!

We played a scenario situated in Norway with the Troops Weapons & Tactics ruleset where Spitzenfinger was involved in some experiments with canines. Maybe we'll redo that with Chain of Command.
Might take some time though.. :)

An interesting read… I have to admit that I am mightily tempted by the idea of Weird War 2 with Chain of Command. I picked up those Lard Specials and have some Konflikt ’47 books on the way. I like how you put your own spin on the rules from the Lard Specials.

Hey Grumpy, what specials are you speaking of?  Are they weird war?

Let me know,
Brian

The Lard Christmas 2015 Special and the Lard Yearly 2019 Special that Sgt_Tmentioned in his blog post.

Both reference special rules for elements of Weird War for Chain of Command. Specifically zombies and werewolves.

Sgt_T appears to have tweaked those suggestions for his own twist. Very cool.
