Hello,
      I have to prepare a research paper and I was looking to cover a small unit action preferably involving American units. I want to emphasize the tactics that were utilized during the engagement. Any suggestions?

Harlem hell fighters? Don't know much on the subject myself, but didn't they hold a position against numerically superior germans in a nighttime attack or something along those lines? The only other thing I could think of is Trench raids.

Australian War memorial has a series of after action reports when they were training the American troops when they arrived in France. Contact the war memorial library staff, they will point you in the correct direction.
