New Brushscape Shade:Urban Grey

Hi,

Just to let you know that we've added a new shade to our range of Brushscape Textured Paints:

409 Urban Grey

This matches the Coat D'arms colour 212 Dark Grey.

We've had a number of requests from people basing urban and future war miniatures for this colour.

I have never used your textured paint.

Can you give some details.... like how textured is it?

Is it like Basetex a thick gloopy paste? Or more like a textured house paint which might have a few bits of sand in it?

does it give a rough lumpy textured finish like a scale ploughed field, or an almost smooth finish like wet and dry paper?

Any piccies of it used?

And if it happens to be just what I want ... can you sell it inbig (eg 0.5 ltr) bottles at a bit of a discount like Miniature paints does with its range of paints?

It isn't as gloopy as Basetex - it is basically acrylic paint with white silica sand in it.

To be honest, it depends on how much you put on, but put on straight it gives you a good dry-brushing surface to to bring out some highlights.

I will try and find some good pictures of bases that use it - I've used it for all my figures for the last few years, so I should be able to find something... :-)

Miniatures Paints buy their paints in bulk and then bottle them themselves which is how they are able to offer paint in 0.5 litres.  I sell FAR too much paint to spend time packing it into pots, so I'm afraid it just comes in 60ml pots.

BTW.. which one of your washes is closest to the dark brown from GW (Devlan Mud), your normal mud wash is great for making mucky stuff but not as good for shading.

Super Wash 175 - Light Brown is close to Devlan Mud - and yes I realise that some people think the terms Light and Dark are the wrong way round on the Super Washes....
