Scotia-Grendel..... not impressed.
« on: August 29, 2021, 10:35:14 PM »
Has anyone else had issues contacting Scotia-Grendel? I found this post from 2015 that went unanswered by anyone, by a fellow LAF'er so it doesn't look like this is something new:

Quote
Anyone had/having difficulties getting a reply from Scotia Grendel? I ordered some stuff from them a few weeks ago. Delivery was prompt but some items were missing. E-mailed and messaged them but had no reply back.

I ordered a small order from them in April and it STILL has not shown up. 3 emails since July have gone unanswered. Not too impressed.   :-[

I am surprised you have a problem with Scotia. In my experience they have always been one of the more reliable companies to deal with.
I have had 3 orders for 1/300 vehicles and aircraft from them in the past few months (all kept small, £20-£25 or so for delivery to Spain). The last placed in early August arrived a few days ago. No problems with delivery or customs/brexit issues on any of the packets.

Have you tried giving them a call?

Bravo Six, Haven't purchased from them for many years, but I have tried to make enquiries via e-mail.  Never received a reply. Not impressed.

I've never had to correspond with them but have ordered a few times over the past few years, including fairly recently, and zero issues, all as it should be.

They seem to be reasonably active on Twitter, tried there?

Try Facebook as they answer on there quite a lot and post new releases and such.

Thanks guys. I don't do social media like Twitter and FB, so I'm frozen out by that avenue. I've ordered from them a few times in the last couple of years and despite taking over 3 months for an order to show up, I haven't had any issues with them or need to contact them until now.

I ordered twice from them last year before Brexit struck, and while the first one came over without a hitch, given the pandemic restrictions (took about two weeks to Germany), I had to enquire after the second one didn't show any progress for about five weeks. It came swiftly enough after that (7 weeks in total, IIRC), and it may have had to do with me ordering an eclectic bunch of items, some may have had to be cast.

I will echo that normally Scotia Grendel are a good company to deal with.

Last time I did was pre-plague when I was arranging an order to pick up at a local show, they couldn't have been more helpful.

If you used the contact form on the website, you may get more response from a direct email: robbie@scotiagrendel.com ...?

Bravo if you would like me to phone up and ask on your behalf just email with your order details and a brief description of the problem and I’ll get on to them for you.

Stay safe,
