I finished my first unit for the Chaos army: Chaos warriors of Khorne.
The models are a mix of Alternative Armies, 3D prints, Demonworld and others and I do like how they have come out.

My aim was to break away from the silly uniformity introduced in later editions of Warhammer. That’s why there’s an orc, a beastman, a giant and other monstrosities among the ranks of spiked, horny guys (horny, you know…because of the helmets…ah forget it!).

Four bases are done which gives me a decent force for HotT/DBF but not enough for Warmaster. Now on to the rest so those evil stunties will meet their match!

Here is the last base and an overview of the battle line.

And another base ready for play: models from Rackham Confrontation and Bronze Age refurbished as some mean, gigantic race from the cold north. Behold, the mighty behemoths!

Not sure if I will keep the base as it is as the colors for the skin of the crouched giant and the sword of the standing giant are pretty close as I just have realized.

Thank you! The next step? I’ve got a few spare models here and there, but also lots of beastly mean and sick (in the literal sense) followers of a certain Chaos god….;)

So I was away for a few days to talk about very old stone axes on a conference (which I do among other things for a living), but I had prepared these here and they are now finished.

The models are mostly from Alternative Armies and they work just perfect as Chaos Warriors of Nurgle.

And this little chap is a 3d priint (we live in such amazing times!) from Varus miniatures. He’s a great little model and just perfect as a sorcerer of Nurgle.

Wow! Great work on those! You’re right, we certainly do live in amazing times, 3D printing is making just about any miniature imaginable readily available.

Yes, indeed, 3d printing is really shaking things up. And I don’t even have a printer. I fear if one day I buy one, I won’t be able to stop :)

That is a legitimate worry - two of my friends bought 3D printers and both now have LARGE piles of prints waiting for paint!

That might be me if I ever buy one lol
I also have no real place (young kid in the house) and relax after work when I’m *not* at my computer. And the last thing is my biggest issue. Painting (and collecting!) little toy soldiers is a beautiful hobby which gets my mind off the day’s problems and tomorrow’s challenges. And while having the prints would just be awesome, I have no motivation to get into the actual process.

I’m in the same place in regards to printing- I do love seeing the positive impact it’s having on the community though :)

They all work great and are all suitably slimy. Good work.

Hope you enjoyed your rock-bashing conference.

Thanks, guys! Yeah I truly enjoy talking about such stuff. And that‘s not even taking into account the beers in the evening;)
