Always a great game when James wins, a rubbish one when he loses.

This is, of course, correct  lol
cheers

I have been looking for a suitable Dwarf magic user for sometime and was struggling to find one that fitted my low fantasy setting until I stumbled across Crippled God Studios. I love the sculpt but was disappointed when he arrived to find he is much larger than my Hasslefree Dwarves. I’m not too concerned though as I have rationalised a reason why the size difference…….

Human/dwarf couplings in the far North are not uncommon amongst the barbarian tribes where human and Dwarf tribes live freely alongside each other. Sigmund was the product of a Dwarvish father and a human mother. The ability to use magic is rarely found in Dwarves, yet Sigmund developed magic skills at a young age, a trait inherited from his mother who was a wielder of magic in her own right. When Sigmund reached manhood he was fully trained in rune casting. Along with his brother Ragnar he travelled south looking for adventure…

That's a fine miniature and nicely painted. How big does the figure turn out to be - is he Oathmark dwarf sized or GW LotR sized? Can you do a comparison shot as I would like to grab one if he is not too big.

Nice miniature Nick. I think I saw this guy the other day at the off ramp asking for change.

He’s huge (hence the fluff about him being half human).  :?

Hasslefree on the left GW LotR on the right.

Footsore on the left GW LotR on the right.

As I only intend my Dwarves to be for small 5-8 figure skirmish groups I am not so fussed about the massive discrepancy. I might add him to a band of Frostgrave Barbarians in time. I think he will look better as a half man/Dwarf alongside them. His clothes also fit the barbarian style which partly why I bought him. Other than him I haven’t found a suitable low fantasy dwarf wizard I like. :(

If it's a 3d print some places will scale it down for you before printing.

A couple more figures for the Dwarf retinue.

James of Moir.  A GW LotR figure.

My Dwarf Runemaster needed a familiar, so my good friend Dr De’Ath 3D printed this fox for me. I painted him as an Arctic fox as his Runemaster is from the frozen north.

And here’s a size comparison
