Looking for 1/72 space fighter models for V.I.P.E.R.
« on: September 07, 2021, 09:16:31 AM »
What ho, squiffies.
The other day, I was overcome by the inexplicable urge to dig up my copy of the handbook of the Venerable Institute of Practitioners of Extraplanetary Racing (https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/14304/viper), to prepare for a convention game next year. So now I have a pretext to buy starfighter models in 1/72(ish) scale.
I'd like to go for models which do not immediately remind racers of the big IPs like Star Wars, Star Trek, Galactica, Bab5, etc.

Do any of you esteemed fellow hobbyists have a go-to-website for such models, maybe of Japanese origin?

Hobbylink Japan often have kits of fighters from loads of different anime.

I once bought a few that were scaled 1/72, but worked perfectly fine in 1/100 (when taken out of context). I believe they were from Battleship Yamato, and were perfectly generic space fighters...
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...

Thank you, that looks like I will be able to find something there. :)
