USMC Colours in the Pacific
« on: September 11, 2021, 05:43:33 AM »
Good morning. Some advice from members would be much appreciated. I am just about to start my next WW2 project, being a 15mm USMC force in the Pacific for use with "Battlegroup Pacific".  I have a plethora of books and colour plates for both the infantry and armour but all seem to use different colours.

Can anyone advise  on the "correct" base colour for both the infantry uniform and the armour? My go-to and most easily accessible paint ranges are Vallejo and Revell Aquacolor.

Thanks

Give a look at Vallejo Green-Gray. I have used it with a slight brown-matt medium overwash and found it matches pretty well. Can also add some white for an even more faded look.
Two cents worth, hope it helps.

Vallejo usmc tank crew uniform- I went through a heap of colours before I realised tank crew wore the same colour uniform as grunts. It’s that greenish slightly bluish late war colour. Add white/grey to taste.

This is a very interesting topic. looking at the USMC WW2 uniforms it always seemed to me they had a blue tint to the green if that makes any sense. I really don't know if there is a single company that makes any one paint that matches. You are definitely going to have to mix up something.

Chaps, thanks for the replies. I know I have Vallejo "Green-Grey" and will go in search of "USMC Tank Crew Uniform".

Do you know which Vallejo range it is from?
