I have a tons of those free magazine iDaleks painted in 60s colours, tans, imperials and some black and reds, 7 Micro universers also painted in tan, 7 Black tree Movie Daleks painted like the 1st movie and a normal black tree Dalek painted in "Death to the Daleks" colours.

I want to get more BTD stuff and also CP models, I might post picturs of all I've got tomorrow.

Would love to see them!

I've not had a chance to play Stargrave yet, but have played Galactic Heroes/FFol quite a bit in a slew of different eras.  I do have both sets of rules, and so some thoughts on those.

Stargrave is really designed for campaign play, upgrading your squad, dealing with the fallout of a pyrrhic victory, etc.  That said, the basic loot and unlock is also covered by GH with skills that affect that.  Stargrave does also have some interesting concepts such as wandering monsters and 'oh no! the pirates showed up'.  However, these are definitely adaptable.  There is a large bevy of special powers for you to customize your Captain and First mate with, but depending on your end goal this can get a bit overly complex.  Crews in Stargrave are also more varied in size, in the sense that you have a points allotment that you can mix and match crew and gear on.

I don't see myself playing it a whole bunch, but I do see myself borrowing some of the scenarios or concepts (such as the pirates or random monster shows up).  So it was worth the price of admission (plus the models are good, mostly generic, sci-fi).

Galactic Heroes can be used for campaign, and there are basic rules for this in the various FFoL rules, but is meant more for one off games.  It's activation mechanic is one of the best I've played.  Cards are dealt based on surviving models, and then played from highest to lowest, making a huge break from alternating model activations or IGOYOUGO.  It's like the Sword and the Flame or other card activations, except you can have some control over what pops up and how you allocate things (do I play the Queen to heal model A or do I really need my sniper to take a shot).  For your squad, you typically have a Leader, Specialist, and 3 regulars.  However, you can vary that with grunts or team traits.  There are a number of 'powers' but they are all fairly simple, and enable you to field Hawkmen to Halo Elites to Darth Vader to Space Marines very easily.

There are also compendiums to Galactic Heroes.  There is a vehicle design rulebook if you want to field dreadnoughts or razorbacks.  Then there is also the compendium which has popular sci-fi factions (Rebels, Imperials, Federation w/Kirk+Spock, Space Marines, Tau, Flash Gordon, Terminators, etc) already setup and ready to play.  It is primarily D10 based (occasionally D8 and D12, depending on the characters).

Finally, as noted, I've used GH/FFoL to run Spartans vs Athenians, Vikings vs Saxons, Jonny Quest, Star Wars, Halo vs Hawkmen, Star Wars vs Star Trek, and more.  It is currently my favorite game system for small scale action (although others do have nice elements, such as Ronin's Combat Pool).  I find it highly flexible, and as I like to write my own scenarios or adapts other people's scenarios, it works great.

One small correction, crews in Stargrave are always going to be 10 figures (plus maybe a summoned drone, and whatever other "temporary soldier" tricks show up in the future).  Even if (when) you run out of credits you can (and should) always fill in the roster with free recruits and runners.  Crew quality can vary a lot based on how well you're doing in campaign play, but crew size is pretty much fixed (mostly for maintaining some semblance of balance).

Thanks all, it does seem like GH has the flexibility I want.

You are correct, I missed that bit.

5150 New Beginnings! Incredibly customizable, uses the Chain Reaction system that means your figures always react instead of standing around waiting for their card to be pulled. Has a full campaign and Encounter system, space combat, travel, wealth tracking, cybernetic enhancements, psionics, drones and net running, tons of alien species.
Play the game, not the players!

sound interesting - was completely unaware of them (5150).

blimey - looking into them - bit confusing all the different editions and variations.

But have got the '5150- new beginnings' (not the Urban Renewal version - difference?) from WV.
Also their '5150 Space Marines' sounds interesting too.

hmm, didn't get that you're the author of the revamped set on KS, from your post above.
hadn't noticed your thread on this board!

don't do KS, but hope it all comes through as intended. Will certainly pick up your revamp when available.

I'd say galactic heroes is closer to want you want (Although if you're still shopping around I could direct you to planet 28, the free sci fi ruleset that lets you build any warband you want and has vehicle and solo expansions...)  ;)

I asked him pretty much the same question and got an answer over on this thread:

Yeah, the first printing of 5150 was around 2011, and each one since has added a bit. Urban Renewal was the 2014 update. The game has evolved from a  basic tabletop shooter warband level scifi game with a light campaign system and some light figure personalization, into a much more comprehensive warband level skirmish game with a full on campaign system, solo play, a DIY Encounter system (I need a job to pay Rent, so I do a Chillin' Encounter to meet a patron...which has encounters and such, and then the Job Encounter could take me on a Raid, or an Escort Encounter and so on until I get paid), and many more character and figure options.

5150 Star Marines is a squad to platoon level skirmish game in the same universe setting, with a campaign generator, Star (your warband leader) progression, rules for Zero-G and hostile atmo, Boarding rules, etc. Here's an AAR of how that game plays:
