We're the Russians in Afghanistan in the 1870s?  I tried an internet search and found nothing.  It sounds interesting though.

I've gamed 'Great Game' Colonial Russian vs Colonial Brits in a few what-if scenarios mainly centered around northern India but the location could quite as easily been Afghanistan.  There are a couple of manufacturers out there if you are looking for figures and a few period paintings with great detail.

Have a look at there Russo-Turkish war line. I imagine they'd do fine but even if the uniforms are wrong (I am no expert on Russia), I am pretty sure the irregular cossacks and what not would be useable.
