Very interesting post - thanks for sharing. First question (there may be more later), how does IMoviei compare to the old, much missed, Windows freebie movie app (was it called Movie Maker? I can’t remember).?

I never used 'movie maker'. I can only compare IMovie for Windows and Adobe Premiere Elements.

IMfWin is very user friendly and intuitive. Editing was a simple job, WYSIWYG, copy, cut, paste. I can produce professional home videos with IMfWin.
APE is more refined. For example, in APE I can animate an object (a corps counter on a map) along a precise path. In IMovie I can't and I must use a workaround. You need to watch the tutorials to understand all tricks. Toolbox however is bigger than IMfWin.
