Fire at Sea - WW2 Naval Rules

Free set of rules for small WW2 actions. I've played the sinking of HMS Glorious & the Battle of the River Plate with them in a single 3 hour session - very good rules. The former was an extended stern chase with ineffective swordfish attacks, the latter was a massacre with every ship being sunk!

Game has an original mechanism of using draws from a deck of cards to determine damage. Your ship profile lets you know what damage you take based on the draw and the gun that hit you.

Has anyone else tried these?

kerpob,

The Little Wars TV guys reviewed these recently, and gave them a good score -

A few friends that still have 1/1200 scale ship collections (which we used to play with on floors or concrete driveways way back when), might be able bring out their dusty old models for this ruleset,  since it uses an abstracted grid board that shrinks the sea-space required .

Thinking this system would be fun for game days and conventions - easy play, Captain cards, and if presented with those big old ship models - could be visually fetching too.
