Chum Martin and I have been planning a 1940 campaign since before all this *waves arms a bit* stuff began.
Finally we've been able to get the toys on the table and start playing.
This was scenario one from the TFL Summer Special 2016 campaign Fighting Withdrawal with the plucky British BEF attempting to delay the German Blitzkrieg.

A close run affair that could have gone either way.

Lots of words and more pictures over on the blog

And so on to the second game - a rather quick one as it turned out...

I’m envious TWD as I’m still trapped by “all this”. This looks great fun, I’m going to read the blog posts now with interest.

Right I’m back. This all looked like a great campaign, I do like Chain of Command, it and Battlegroup are my two favourite WW2 games. The second game with the mistakes that occurred meaning it finished quickly is very familiar. In a campaign game with a friend we were playing the scenario where you’ve just got to get one unit off the opponents edge. I asked my opponent which edge he wanted to defend and he just went for the long edge he was sat by (I would have chosen a short edge). During the patrol phase I outmanoeuvred him (I proved afterwards, to his chagrin, that he could have just stopped me but it was precision work with the markers) and boxed in/locked down his markers early. Drove my 250/1 with recon team on, down the far flank and off before he was anywhere near. A crap game but it saved many tiny chaps and swung the campaign ultimately.

Looking forwards to the next game,

BALM

Great stuff! I do enjoy reading CoC posts. The table and models look great and the game sounds like it was fun.

And so to game four with the Tommies getting a bit desperate now in the face of the Jerry onslaught
