New WWII 3D range renderings at Elhiem
« on: October 19, 2021, 12:12:08 AM »
Matt over at Elheim has a series of renderings for WWII Brandenbergers up on his forum...

https://elhiem.vbulletin.net/forum/main-forum/881-ww2-german-brandenbergers

The renderings and subject matter are, to my eye, really interesting and accurate. Light order raiding kit and useful poses certainly work well for Balkans, the tropical Brandenberger Kompanie in North Afrika '42 and '43, and should paint-up well for Kustenjager on Leros, etc... Probably could serve as Lutwaffe or DAK as-is or with minor greenstuff mods to a couple of the figs.

I am really impressed by the quality of 3D sculpting coming into the hobby, and especially like how well they translate into cast metal on 20mm and 28mm. Seem to be getting more natural in their animation all the time. Haven't seen enough 15mm's to comment. That said, I still also appreciate quality old school putty sculpts. My two cents worth.

Hi, somehow the URL got messed up in your OP. I replaced it and hope I found the right thread.

Interesting sculpts, an while I don't do 15mm anymore these days, I'd be interested to see how well they ultimately work out in the actual printing and reproduction process.

Thanks for the link-fix.
(FYI the figs are 20mm rather than 15mm.)

Elhiem now has 3, three-figure packs of Brandenbergers up on the website.
Found here -  https://www.elhiem.co.uk/ourshop/cat_1447901-ALL-NEW.html
The Officers/NCOs with an assortment of SMGs is an interesting offering.

Nice additions. Hope for more.

I noticed these as well and know virtually nothing about them, but its nice seeing greater variety for 20mm.

Very tempted to do some 20mm WW2 skirmish as that is where I started out all those years ago, albeit in plastic Revell etc.

You're right, of course. Elhiem's always been 20mm, don't know why I had 15mm on my mind.
