Help with 28mm scale comparison for Barons War figures please
« on: October 20, 2021, 01:53:05 PM »
I've started a Baron's War project as said in previous topics with Footsore figures. I want to start another retinue and was wondering which figure manufacturers are close in scale for the 1180-1250ish period for a bit of variation . I'd like to expand into the Crusades a bit too with a Templar faction. Any help or advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks in Advance
JB

Here's a previous thread, hope it is of some use as I've used crusader alongside footsore for a very small commission.

Exodus 1:10 KJV
Come on, let us deal wisely with them; lest they multiply, and it come to pass, that, when there falleth out any war, they join also unto our enemies, and fight against us, and so get them up out of the land.

Accepting not Crusades, but you did not say just Crusades, might be worth a wait for Footsore's Medieval Welsh ? Planning mix them in with Antediluvian Miniatures models (Islemen) and some head swaps on their clansmen where clothing appropriate. The later all Paul Hicks sculpts I believe so match Barons war range.

Many thanks to you both. While I was looking about I came across some Templars by CP Models, any idea how they scale?

I have mixed mine with Claymore, Andalusian and Foundry.
Works for me

In this picture you can see a Footsore Miniatures Barons Wars knight (holding his helmet), Crusader Miniatures Knights, Gripping beast knights and 1st Corps/Curteys foot soldiers.

Gripping Beast, 1st Corps and a Crusader knight with a Fireforge raised arm and axe.

This Crusader Miniatures mounted knight also has a Fireforge arm and axe

In this pic my knights by all of the above manufacturers are engaged in a melee with Captain Bloods Fireforge plastics:

And here my mounted knights do battle with Captain Blood's Firefore knights.

So in summary:

Crusader Miniatures
Gripping Beast Miniatures
Footsore Miniatures Barons Wars
1st Corps/Curteys

They all blend in together and will work alongside your Fireforge figures. :)
