My next building is a Landing pad.

The main colours were painted with an airbrush, then it was weathered using an airbrush and sponge for chipping.

That looks super cool! There is nothing like cables and conduits running here and there to add some class to a sci-fi scene. I never really liked the Star Trek universe, possibly because of the lack of exposed cables and conduits…. (the uniforms didn’t help either).

Cheers, I really like the look of cables everywhere ( I feel I didn't have enough sometimes)!. I was inspired by these blogs  who I think they also frequent LAF.

The last major building and one of the biggest for this project is finished!

I took lots of pictures of this because I was very happy with the finished building.

Wonderful build :-* :-* :-*  Though I can’t see me taking my antique clock there (an obscure reference that perhaps only members from the UK or Oz will get ;)

I love it. From every cable lying and hanging to the perfect weathering and then being modular. Well done.

My next scatter piece finished which I'll label a Generator. It was made from XPS foam with corrugated cardboard sides and Warhammer Fantasy regiment base pieces. The middle pillars are from a Dungeons and Lasers parts and the rest of the gribbly bits are 3D printed, or random junk including a 3D printer fan. The rivets are made from plastic rod.

The painting was much the same as earlier models but I went heavy on the weathering with this model, especially the airbrushing.

I decided  to layout all the finished terrain from this thread, to see how it would look on some boards I finished. It was rushed so I didn't get a chance to stage it very well, but its nice to see the fruits of my labour over the last 8 months all laid out!

I plan to mix the 2 styles of buildings up for games to make it more random.

After laying them all out, I think I need some walls/debris and compounds to go around or near the buildings. I have plenty of individual pieces but nothing to tie them together. Any other suggestions for pieces to make the pieces work together better?

Tracks.
a) 'Rail' tracks with a Sci-Fi twist? Low level, but hazard for vehicles crossing.
b) Mono, hover or Mag-lev track.  Might be high enough for figures to move
    under, but not vehicles?
c) Cable, with under slung wagons.

With any of the above you can have 'rolling' stock.  Sci-Fi shunting ('Diesel' & 'wagons')
which could be stationary or randomly moving.

Also an industrial site will have a reason to exist, be it breaking up cars, moving goods
or processing ore.  Therefore (once you have chosen your 'reason') you can have:-
Old (Sci-Fi) cars, containers/ boxes/crates or mounds of ore (with automated little diggers
& tippers?).

Anyway, carry on the good work. :)

Looks great when put all together.

Might just need to simple little terrain items to bring the place to life and add a bit more interest.Could even be objectives in games.

Di you buy the vehicles like that or convert them?

How about a break area? You could have some barrels or crates in a circle for people to chill out or skive off work.

looks really good.

I agree that  something linear will give you some more options and make it more varied, but you could do some chain link fencing instead of walls.

You could also do some roads or concrete areas for loading/staging or a landing pad.

I'd also think about some generic raised areas, concrete o otherwise so you can introduce more verticality, it'd give you the option of putting maybe your hab blocks on them or something else.

It also looks great as is, cool project.
